Whitening

In-surgery or take home teeth whitening.

Discoloured teeth can be embarrassing, but our simple, effective teeth whitening procedures can give you a brighter smile you will be proud to show off. Teeth can look dull for various reasons including smoking, stain-inducing food and drink, and certain medications.

Professional teeth whitening is the safest method for improving the colour of your teeth when supervised by your dentist. As your whitening treatment will be overseen by a dental professional, you will benefit from safely achieved, superior results.

What is the treatment process?

First, we try to ascertain the cause of your discolouration to decide which whitening procedure is most appropriate and check your teeth are sufficiently healthy for this smile enhancing treatment. We also make a note of your tooth colour so we can check the effectiveness of the whitening following treatment.

OPALESCENCE!® SYSTEM: Home Whitening

A whitening gel is used in custom-made trays, which are worn for a period of 2-4 hours during the day or overnight, and this is repeated for several days.

Step One
We take impressions of your teeth, which are then used to make mouth trays.

Step Two
When these thin, comfortable trays have been produced, we show you how to wear them with the lightening gel and tell you how long they need to be worn each day.

Step Three
You take the trays home and wear them for the specified periods. Within a couple of weeks, you should have visibly whiter teeth.

ZOOM!® LIGHT-SPEED: Surgery Whitening

An LED lamp is used chair-side to produce maximum whitening results in the shortest possible time. The procedure also includes custom-made trays.

Step One
We protect the soft tissues of the mouth and apply whitening gel to the teeth.

Step Two
We shine a bright light onto the teeth to accelerate the whitening process. A home tray is also provided to complete and maintain the tooth whitening process.

Step Three
We carefully monitor the lightening process by cleaning the gel off the teeth and applying again in stages until the desired level of whiteness is achieved.

What are the plus points?

What else do I need to know?

Whitening is only effective on natural teeth, so it will not work on restorations such as veneers, crowns or white fillings. You will be provided with a custom consent form that explains all the risks and benefits in detail.

Although teeth whitening can achieve beautiful results, these will not last forever, so the process will need to be topped up from time to time. However, maintaining good oral hygiene and avoiding food and drink that could cause staining will help.

Patient Testimonials

Always excellent service and the staff are nice and friendly.

My last visit was to see the hygienist and she was lovely.

What can I say, going here makes a trip to the dentist a rather pleasant experience!
